PTC RISE Program Officer officially inducted as inaugural NYDRRM National SecGen

PTC RISE Lead Program Officer Josh P. McCarver was officially inducted as the inaugural National Secretary General of the National Youth for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (NYDRRM) during a Virtual Oath Taking Ceremony last February 24.

NYDRRM Officers from the National, Regional and Local levels throughout the Philippines attended the virtual activity, with honored guests from the National Youth Commission (NYC) and Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region III conducting the official oath-taking of the attendees.

PTC's RISE Lead Program Officer Josh McCarver was elected as the inaugural National Secretary General of the NYDRRM during the 1st Philippine Youth Disaster Preparedness Summit last July 31, 2022, and has since spearheaded Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) activities and programs for the Filipino youth.

True to his "RISE to the Call, RISE to the Challenge" agenda, Mr. McCarver is set to lead the formulation of youth-based, youth-initiated, and youth-lead DRRM policies, plans, programs, and projects. He also aims to utilize NYDRRM as a platform to introduce and promote the PTC RISE Program nationwide, share its achievements, and encourage its replication to youth networks across the Philippines.
